Invitation

A warm welcome to the Neuro-Oncology communities of Australia, Asia and beyond,

We are delighted to invite you to attend the 13th Asian Society for Neuro-Oncology (ASNO) Meeting to be held in Australia for the very first time.  The meeting will be held in conjunction with the 9th COGNO (Cooperative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology) Annual Scientific Meeting from Sunday 11th to Wednesday 14th September 2016 at Sheraton on the Park in Sydney.

The theme of the meeting is “Neuro-Oncology: is the landscape changing?”

Confirmed international faculty include: Professor Roger Stupp, Professor Mitchel Berger, Professor Paul Mischel, Associate Professor Arjun Sahgal, Professor W. K. Alfred Yung, Professor Gregory Riggins and Assistant Adjunct Professor Mary Lovely.  They, along with Australian and Asian faculty, will contribute to a comprehensive program that will be multidisciplinary and cover topics such as: challenges in the management of gliomas, lymphomas and brain metastases as well as updates on novel therapies, molecular classification, imaging, clinical trials, quality of life and the role of allied health in caring for our patients.

Sunday 11th September is dedicated to two concurrent programs.  Firstly, a stereotactic radiosurgery workshop appropriate for those involved or interested in this approach.  This will be interactive and give participants a chance to learn directly from leaders in the field.  Secondly, an education “Master Class” for trainees and junior faculty that will provide an interactive opportunity to hear from experts how they manage their own patients: from first diagnosis to end of life care.

Sydney is rightfully acknowledged as one of the world’s great cities and the Sheraton on the Park is a beautiful 5-star hotel located in the heart of the CBD overlooking Hyde Park.  It is a short walk to Sydney Harbour and the renowned Sydney Opera House, and only minutes to the CBD’s shopping precincts and eateries.

On behalf of the Organising Committee we look forward to seeing you at the ASNO-COGNO Scientific Meeting in September.
